City Of Glass Review

 Hi!
The cover.
I recently finished reading an absolutely amazing book called City Of Glass. I've reviewed City Of Bones, the first book in the series, and I'm going to skip City Of Ashes just because City Of Glass (I'll just call it Glass) is so awesome. So it's the third book in the Mortal Instruments series. I'm not going to spoil the storyline or anything, so I won't reveal any spoilers.
The war between the Shadowhunters and the demons is getting really serious. Clary has just found out a way to wake up her mother, who's been in a coma state ever since Clary found out she was a Shadowhunter. Meanwhile, Clary is confused about her relationship with the boy she can never love. Will things ever be okay? Who will be sacrificed to set things straight?
Well, my description above was pretty bad, but it was a REALLY good book! here are my good and bad points:

Goods:
As I've mentioned about 10 times, I loved this book! It was not too boring at any point, and it was full of twists and surprises. I love suspenseful books, and this was one helluva suspenseful book! :)

Bads:
There was a bit too much fighting. I mean, I love action, don't get me wrong, but I was getting a bit tired of demons showing up everywhere and fighting everyone as I got through the book. It's not a huge deal, but it was quite irritating. But other than that, I don't really think there were any other bad points.

Overall, it was a really, really good read. I definitely recommend the Mortal Instruments! I give it a 9/10.

Shatter Me Review

Hey there,
I haven't blogged in ages! So sorry about that! Anyway, I'm reviewing a great book today, so I hope that makes up for it.  :)

The awesome cover.
So I'm reviewing Shatter Me (what an awesome title, right?) by Tahereh Mafi. It's one of those books set in the dark and evil future. At first I was a little reluctant about this book (as you'll see I always seem to be with good books!), but I bought it anyway. The cover really attracted me in the end. And then when I read it, I wasn't disappointed. It's about a very, well, different girl named Juliette. She has this unfortunate disease/curse thingy that makes her unable to touch people. You see, when she makes physical contact with someone, they die. So because of this, she's holed up in a cell, locked up away from everyone else. And that's where it gets worse. The army want to use her as a weapon for torturing rebels. Of course, she doesn't want to do this, but she has no choice. In this book I guarantee you won't be able to stop reading!

So, here's my criticism on this book:

Goods:
First of all, I loved the storyline. It captured me really early in the story, which in my opinion, is a good thing. There was lots of drama and my favourite- romance! There were bits in the book that I would read over and over again because the description was just so good! I definitely have to congratulate Mafi for her first published novel.

Bads:
I think it was a bit predictable. Well, any books is. I mean, you just know the lovers' relationship will eventually work out and they'll find true love and everything. You know the bad guy's not going to win. It's sort of like that in this book. Of course, there are heaps of thrills and surprises in this book, but just not enough for me. Maybe I'm thinking like this, because looking back at it, it sort of dulls in comparison to all the action-packed, romantic books I've read before. I guess it didn't have enough oomph in it.

Overall, I loved this book. I really recommend it to everyone, because it's just such a good read! I give it 8/10! Can't wait for the sequel! :)
