Book Requests!

Heyy!
If you want me to review a specific book or series, just comment below! If you've discovered this amazing book and you want the rest of the world to find out about it, then just comment below and I'll see if I can review it for you :)

thinandbeautiful.com

Hello there! Haven't posted a review in ages... but I'm back with another good book. :)

The book I'll be reviewing today is Thinandbeautiful.com. What a mouthful! But it's a really creative title and I love creative titles.

So this book is about a girl who's going through the puberty blues. Her body is changing and she's continuously becoming more and more conscious about her figure. In order to be satisfied with her body, she decides to start dieting. Which is harmless, right? As the days pass by she becomes more and more obsessed with dieting. Her friends and family aren't happy with the whole over-dieting thing and try to stop her. She begins to think that everyone hates her even though she's not doing anything wrong. But then she finds "thinandbeautiful.com", a dangerous Pro-Ana site that encourages her to continue her mission to be the thinnest possible.

It's a really interesting book. The author, Liane Shaw, states that she was once an anorexic, So I think this book is probably as realistic as it gets. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading reality themed books. So here's my good and bad points:

Good:

This book is a really good read, the type of book that you could read in a matter of a few days. I like the fact that it's a relevent story and the things that happen, (or most things, at least) happen in real life. It made me very conscious about anorexia. It's also a type of book many teenage girls can relate to. I find myself linking events in the book to events that happen to me in reality.

Bads:

As usual, I write reviews about the books I enjoy, so readers don't waste their time looking for poorly written books. So, I usually have a hard time deciding the bad points of the books.
So anyway, I guess what annoys me in most books is that there's usually a cheesy ending. Like, everyting works out after all these problems they had. I know, you can't have a book that's all tragic and sad, but I what irritates me is how quickly authors wind up the ending. In this particlar book, even though I personally can't think of another way to end the book, I don't like how everything works out so easily. Call me harsh, but I have to be. But still, don't let that put you off the book, it's a great book.

So, that's my review for thinandbeautiful.com. Hope you decide to try ot out! I give it a 8/10.

Happy reading! :)

City Of Glass Review

 Hi!
The cover.
I recently finished reading an absolutely amazing book called City Of Glass. I've reviewed City Of Bones, the first book in the series, and I'm going to skip City Of Ashes just because City Of Glass (I'll just call it Glass) is so awesome. So it's the third book in the Mortal Instruments series. I'm not going to spoil the storyline or anything, so I won't reveal any spoilers.
The war between the Shadowhunters and the demons is getting really serious. Clary has just found out a way to wake up her mother, who's been in a coma state ever since Clary found out she was a Shadowhunter. Meanwhile, Clary is confused about her relationship with the boy she can never love. Will things ever be okay? Who will be sacrificed to set things straight?
Well, my description above was pretty bad, but it was a REALLY good book! here are my good and bad points:

Goods:
As I've mentioned about 10 times, I loved this book! It was not too boring at any point, and it was full of twists and surprises. I love suspenseful books, and this was one helluva suspenseful book! :)

Bads:
There was a bit too much fighting. I mean, I love action, don't get me wrong, but I was getting a bit tired of demons showing up everywhere and fighting everyone as I got through the book. It's not a huge deal, but it was quite irritating. But other than that, I don't really think there were any other bad points.

Overall, it was a really, really good read. I definitely recommend the Mortal Instruments! I give it a 9/10.

Shatter Me Review

Hey there,
I haven't blogged in ages! So sorry about that! Anyway, I'm reviewing a great book today, so I hope that makes up for it.  :)

The awesome cover.
So I'm reviewing Shatter Me (what an awesome title, right?) by Tahereh Mafi. It's one of those books set in the dark and evil future. At first I was a little reluctant about this book (as you'll see I always seem to be with good books!), but I bought it anyway. The cover really attracted me in the end. And then when I read it, I wasn't disappointed. It's about a very, well, different girl named Juliette. She has this unfortunate disease/curse thingy that makes her unable to touch people. You see, when she makes physical contact with someone, they die. So because of this, she's holed up in a cell, locked up away from everyone else. And that's where it gets worse. The army want to use her as a weapon for torturing rebels. Of course, she doesn't want to do this, but she has no choice. In this book I guarantee you won't be able to stop reading!

So, here's my criticism on this book:

Goods:
First of all, I loved the storyline. It captured me really early in the story, which in my opinion, is a good thing. There was lots of drama and my favourite- romance! There were bits in the book that I would read over and over again because the description was just so good! I definitely have to congratulate Mafi for her first published novel.

Bads:
I think it was a bit predictable. Well, any books is. I mean, you just know the lovers' relationship will eventually work out and they'll find true love and everything. You know the bad guy's not going to win. It's sort of like that in this book. Of course, there are heaps of thrills and surprises in this book, but just not enough for me. Maybe I'm thinking like this, because looking back at it, it sort of dulls in comparison to all the action-packed, romantic books I've read before. I guess it didn't have enough oomph in it.

Overall, I loved this book. I really recommend it to everyone, because it's just such a good read! I give it 8/10! Can't wait for the sequel! :)

City of Bones Review

Hi!
The cover
Today I'm reviewing City Of Bones by Cassandra Clare. To tell the truth, the first time my friend recommended it to me I didn't want to read it- the description wasn't very appealing to me. Then when I did read it, I didn't finish it. I read like 3 chapters and stopped, it was too boring for me. A few months later, I finally decided to give it another chance. So I did, got through the boring start and I loved it! Here's what it's about:

Clary's a normal girl who lives in the city with her mysterious Mum. Then her whole world turns around when she witnesses the hottest guy in the club kill someone. More like something. She discover's this whole new world and her special ability. She finds out about her real past and goes on a mission to save her missing mum. It's all a bit lame, but it's a pretty exciting read.

Goods:
It was quite humorous, I can still crack up from some of the remarks in that book. The ending was very fast-paced (is that a good point?) and exciting. I don't really know what I loved about this book- I loved it, but now that I look back, I don't know why!

Bads:
This is a biggie for me- it was way too boring at the start. It took a while to actually become exciting, which I personally hate in any book. But I kept going since it was apparently "really good" (and it was). Another thing was that the ending was just too piled up. That's also not good- because I want to now exactly what happened, and sometimes I just can't concentrate when too much is going on! So, it was too slow in the first 2/3 and too fast-paced in the last third. But I still loved it!

Overall, it was a great read. I mean, heaps of bad points, as you can see above, but it was still fun to read. I liked the end result and couldn't wait to jump into the next book! I give it 6.7/10!

Happy reading :)

Silence Review

What an amazingly beautiful cover!
Hello,
I've reviewed Hush Hush and Crescendo, so now I'm reviewing the third book in the Hush Hush series, Silence.
This one's mostly focused on the Nephilim war. Nora's memories of Patch are gone and Patch can't do much about it.

Goods:
Well, this book wasn't as good as the first two, which is quite disappointing with the amazingly beautiful cover. But that's a bad point, so I shouldn't complain just yet! Anyway, I liked the story in this book. It was very eventful and revealing.

Bads:
As I said earlier, it was a bit disappointing. I mean, it was an amazing book, but at Fitzpatrick's standards, it didn't cut it for me. It was very repetitive, since the readers already knew what was going on, it wasn't as exciting as the earlier books.

Just again because I love it <3
Overall, I loved this book, as I love this series, and I recommend it to all of you! I give it 8/10! :)

Happy reading!!
